SEPTEMBER AT A GLANCE
This September, we’re embracing the season of change; saying goodbye to summer sun and hello to cozy fall vibes, refreshed routines, and healthier skin. It’s also a month that is deeply personal to us at Evolve: September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (#GoGold). In honor of the brave kids, like our founder Claudia’s son, Kasen, who are fighting childhood cancer we will be collecting new Halloween costumes, fall activities, and seasonal decorations throughout September to deliver to the brave children at VCU CHoR. On October 1st, these donations will be delivered to the oncology floor to bring joy and festive cheer. Together, we can bring joy, hope, and a little festive magic to their journey.
WHO'S COMING
Some of you may remember a tiny ball of fluff who briefly greeted patients last spring, our toy poodle, Toxi Georgina (aka Botox, Toxi Poo, or Toxarina). Our founder, Claudia, adopted Toxi in March 2024, just before Kasen’s diagnosis, with the dream of her becoming Evolve’s official medspa pup. When life shifted, Toxi stayed home with the Diggs family while Claudia focused on Kasen’s care and continued her core puppy training.
Now, at just over 1 year old (born 1/17/24), she’s back to start making her rounds at Evolve! Toxi is hypoallergenic, doesn’t shed, and absolutely loves people. She’s still very much a puppy, so you may notice her excitement; but every visit helps with her training as she works toward becoming a certified therapy dog in the future.
Rest assured: our treatment spaces remain as sterile as ever! A gate has been installed to keep her out of procedure areas, so she’ll only be making her debut in safe, patient-friendly spaces.
Expect to see her popping in occasionally to say hello and spread a little extra joy.

This September, in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re shifting our charitable spotlight to focus directly on the kids and families at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
